Whether you’re just starting out in the Entertainment Industry or you’re a seasoned veteran, the attitude that you bring to your work is everything.
Overall, the people with the most success in this industry, there are exceptions, show up to work with a great attitude. They are professional, generally good natured, friendly and eager to do what is required of them and beyond.
They are the ones that show up on time if not early, get themselves prepared and work until the work is done. They seem to elevate those around them and inspire others to do their best. They complain rarely and hardly ever without solid reason. You can always tell who the people are on set who have a great attitude and likewise, you can tell the ones who don’t have one.
Here is the deal… this is a hard industry to get into, to succeed in and to stay in. How much easier would it be for us all if we just showed up with a great attitude, a smile and maybe even a snack. Kindness, courtesy and caring for others goes a long way.
Don’t be the exception to the rule. We’ve all worked where we’re over-worked, under-paid and where conditions weren’t ideal. We’ve all had mean people, rude people and inappropriate people working next to us. Let’s do it better! Then, leave the bad stuff behind, surround yourself and your great attitude with people of the same ilk and our lives in this industry will be all the better. Regardless of the stuff that is not so great that just seems to be part of the job.
This is a fun job… have fun, do great work, and weed out the negativity. Attitude is EVERYTHING.
